A2A Tablets 25mg contains Losartan Potassium, which works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a substance that causes blood vessels to tighten. By blocking its effect on the AT1 receptors in blood vessels and other tissues, it helps relax blood vessels, lower blood pressure, and improve blood flow.
Usage And Safety
Dosage
The dosage of A2A Tablets 25mg should always be taken exactly as prescribed by a doctor.
For Hypertension:
Adults: The usual starting dose is 50mg once daily. If needed, the dose may be increased up to 100mg once daily.
Adults with intravascular volume depletion (18–75 years): The usual starting dose is 25mg once daily for several weeks and may be increased up to 100mg once daily if required.
Elderly patients over 75 years: The recommended starting dose is 25mg once daily.
Children under 6 years: Not recommended.
Children 6–18 years weighing less than 50kg: The usual starting dose is 700mcg/kg once daily, up to a maximum of 25mg once daily. The dose may be adjusted according to response, up to a maximum of 50mg once daily.
Children 6–18 years weighing 50kg or more: The usual starting dose is 50mg once daily. In patients with intravascular volume depletion, the starting dose may be 25mg once daily. The dose may be adjusted according to response up to 1.4mg/kg, with a maximum of 100mg once daily.

Side Effects
Like all medicines, A2A Tablets 25mg may cause side effects in some people. Possible side effects include:

A2A Tablets 25mg is used for:
- Treating high blood pressure (hypertension), alone or with other blood pressure medicines
- Reducing the risk of stroke in patients with high blood pressure and left ventricular hypertrophy
- Slowing the progression of diabetic kidney disease in patients with type 2 diabetes who have or had high blood pressure
When not to Use
Do not use A2A Tablets 25mg if you are allergic to Losartan Potassium or any of the other ingredients in this medicine.
Precautions
Precaution
Patients with impaired liver function may require a lower dose, as plasma concentrations of losartan may be increased in individuals with cirrhosis or liver problems.
Warnings
Warning 1
Because A2A Tablets 25mg affects the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, changes in kidney function may occur in some susceptible patients. In some cases, these changes may be reversible after stopping treatment.
Warning 2
Electrolyte imbalance is common in patients with kidney impairment, whether or not they have diabetes, and should be monitored carefully.
Warning 3
Patients taking A2A Tablets 25mg should not use potassium supplements or salt substitutes containing potassium unless advised by their doctor.
